Digital Operations Specialist

 This role is classified as Level 4 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $99,377 - $109,890). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework. 

The Role 

Reporting to the Head of Planning and Development, the Digital Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting SBS Audio's digital publishing operations, platform management and content distribution across owned and third-party services. 

Working closely with editorial, production, technology and digital teams, you'll help optimise publishing workflows, implement new digital capabilities and support the tools and platforms that enable SBS's multilingual content teams to reach audiences effectively. You'll also contribute to digital initiatives, platform innovation and operational improvements that strengthen SBS Audio's digital experiences. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Leading the delivery of high-quality digital publishing and content distribution across SBS Audio's multilingual services.  

  • Driving content marketing across owned digital channels, social media and third-party audio and video distribution platforms, using publishing best practice and audience insights to maximise reach and engagement 

  • Implementing new digital initiatives, tools and workflows that improve content delivery, team capability and operational efficiency.  

  • Monitoring digital performance and audience insights to identify opportunities for growth, optimisation and continuous improvement.  

  • Building strong relationships across editorial, technology and digital teams to deliver innovative content experiences and support strategic priorities. 

We’re looking for someone who brings: 

  • Demonstrated experience in digital publishing, content operations or platform management within a media, broadcast or digital content environment.  

  • Strong knowledge of digital publishing, content marketing and audience growth across owned channels, social media and third-party distribution platforms.  

  • Experience using digital publishing tools, content management systems and analytics platforms to optimise content performance and audience engagement.  

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across editorial, production, technology and marketing teams.  

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.  Experience working with multilingual or multicultural content is highly regarded.

The Planning & Development team plays a central role in shaping the future of SBS Audio. The team leads digital and audio publishing, content production strategy, editorial training and capability, and the delivery of digital initiatives that strengthen audience reach and engagement across SBS's multilingual services. 

Working closely with editorial, technology, product and marketing teams, Planning & Development drives innovation, supports best practice and enables SBS Audio's 60+ language services to deliver trusted multilingual content across digital, audio and emerging platforms.
